Clik here to view.Coin collecting is something which has been happily practiced for centuries. It is something which people can enjoy no matter how old they are. Best of all, the value of the coins seems to skyrocket as the coins in a collection are well protected from harm. Since all coins which are currently valuable in the industry started out as only being worth face value, there are a many that are collecting coins directly from the mint. It seems the mint is always putting out something which will be highly collectible coins in the near future for those who take good care of them.
These days there are a few different kinds of coins being produced by the US Mint which are already collectible straight from the mint. These coins will only increase in value if they are promptly graded and stuck in a slab to protect it from any future damage. Of the coins being produced by the US Mint currently, there are three which will be collector coins very shortly. These include the state quarter series, the presidential dollar series and the state park quarter series. These are available in mint sets as well as in mint proofs.
Get to know the state quarter
The US Mint started a program to last for ten years in 1999. This program was created to release a quarter commemorating the different states as they were added into the Union. These different quarters have all been released to this point and the Delaware quarter has already increased dramatically in value for those who were able to get the coins right from the mint and were able to preserve thing in the mint state.
Get to know the presidential dollar
In 2010 the US Mint started a series of presidential $1 coins which were intended to commemorate the different presidents throughout the history of the United States. The Mint will release four coins every year until they reach the current seated president of the United States. The coins are representative of the Sacagawea golden coins. These collector coins are sold directly from the mint in a variety of different ways which will allow you to collect them and watch as they increase in value. There are sure to be some presidents like Lincoln which will go up in value very quickly for those in good condition.
Get to know the state park quarters
This program is actually known as America the Beautiful series or the National Park series. They are similar in nature to the state quarters. The release of the quarters is scheduled to start in 2010. 5 coins will be released every year to signify the national parks in the different states and territories as they were named a park. There will be 56 parks named in the series altogether. It is hard to say at this point which ones will be the most popular. Chances are if you buy all of them, you will make your money back off of just one of them.
